It's typical Mel Gibson pornographic violence. Very well done but pornographic violence nonetheless. I respect their use of practical effects to create a shockingly disturbing depiction of war. Andrew Garfield gives a solid performance but the rest of the main cast is dull (specifically Vince Vaughn).
The rest of the film is Christian propaganda along with other Mel Gibson quirks.
