Review of Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2009) by Craig S — 02 Jan 2015
An unexplainably tear-jerking plot which follows a college professor accepting an abandoned dog into his life, and the two soon forming an unbeakable bond. This bond proceeds to remain undeniably strong even after the professor's death.
In the last half hour of the movie the anguish of the plot begins to thicken as the faithful akita remains waiting for his owner to return. Hachi is undoubtedly the centre attraction for the film, with great acting by all involved.
I challenge even the hardest of hearts to attempt not to weep towards the end of this film, even the bold faced reviewers who rated this poorly. Although unapologetically tear-enducing, this 1 and a half hour emotional journey is a must watch, expecially for dog-lovers.
