Glorious adventure-comedy-drama-thing, with wacky elephants and stuff. One of the great Hollywood entertainments, and (with Wizard Of Oz and perhaps Ninotchka and Mr. Smith Goes To Washington being the biggest competition) quite possibly my favorite movie from a year renowned for making some of the best movies ever.
Cary Grant is as good as he's ever been, and Stevens direction is mind-bogglingly right.
