You've gotta be shitting me... An examination of "youth alienation" in middle America? Some critics have their heads so far up their asses, they have no grasp of reality.
"Gummo" is a young liberal's fearful fantasy of Hillbilly America, a region that the liberal has never visited nor is ever likely to visit. This has nothing to do with reality, it has nothing to do with thoughtful examination - it's just a collage of fantasy vignettes, a liberal nightmare of life unexperienced. This is what liberals imagine when they hear banjo music.
