A ground breaking film, particularly when you consider that interracial marriage was still illegal in some US states up until the year of the film's release. Poitier excels as the impossibly perfect son-in-law to be for supposedly liberal Tracy and Hepburn.
This was Spencer Tracy's last screen outing as he died soon after completing filming.
