Review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) by Sam O — 14 Jun 2018
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 is not as fresh as its predecessor however the cast chemistry is spectacular. The action set pieces and impressive visuals make it very beautiful to see on the screen. The family message is very relatable and Yondu's death is very emotional.
Some of the jokes didn't land at all and some were very funny. Drax and mantis's dynamic was very enjoyable on screen. My main critiques are Gamora didn't really have much to do in this film as I would have hope.
I wish the third act final battle sequence didn't rely on cgi as much as it did. Overall still a very solid MCU sequel.
