Review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) by Joshua H — 24 Sep 2017
Guardians of Galaxy is pretty to look at with impressive set pieces that almost makes you forget that slick CGI isn't enough to carry a film... luckily GOG is an action-comedy that's non-stop in the jokes and gag department. I hope you have a appetite for jokes about turds, reference to David Hasselholf, and other asinine, referential humor from 80's pop culture( remember Cheers and Mary Poppins? Cus they have jokes about that for some reason.).
Guardian of the Galaxy vol 2 isn't so much bad as it is lazy, but it plays to it audience with onslaughts of sophomoric humor and Micheal Bay OVER-THE-TOP style action that's intently grandiose but somehow boring and stupid for my taste, which I assume most people find appealing. I didn't like this movie, but ironically like the set up for vol. 3, which is the movie I'd rather be watching than this silly bullshit!
