Review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) by Travis S — 16 Oct 2017
Outside of some expected fun moments and witty sidekick humor, Vol. 2 unexpectedly falls victim to severe boredom halfway through the film's length. I mean....really boring! Even Chris Pratt becomes less of the lead actor and more of a supporting character.
Pratt is also the one who is expected to deliver a fairly hefty amount of hilarious dialogue, but Pratt's humor is slightly disappointing because it's barely laughable. Not Pratt's fault, his Starlord character is not as well written in Vol 2 as he was in the original.
Vol. 2 has its moments of fun. Moments, especially the prison break scene with Rocket and Yondu...and the scene between baby Groot and Rocket and a bomb. These are fun moments, but nothing more than moments, which are very sporadic across a 120 minute plus film.
As a whole, sporadic moments do not make this movie worth wild, and Vol. 2 is this. It is not worth wild film.
