Review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) by David H — 01 Dec 2017

I was hoping that like its predecessor, this film would be a break from the general pit of despair that is the Marvel cinematic universe, but that was not the case. the plot is basic, the characters that were very well structured in the first film have become watered-down and act in a way contradictory to the way they have in the past, and the writers obviously aren't confident in their story because basically every serious moment was undercut by a joke (i know, this is supposed to be more light-hearted but it was way too much.

There were some funny moments and the soundtrack was great but despite that, this film will always seem to reside in the shadows of mediocrity.
