Review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) by Summer Movie W — 22 May 2017

Having all of the Guardians interact with each other is fun indeed, but the increase in comedy doesn't make up for the mediocre script. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the film, but I was hoping for a bit more. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 succeeds in satisfying comic book lovers and Marvel fans very well. It advances the universe even further when adding more members to the Guardians team, and it is one of the funniest Marvel movies to date. It is almost perfect on paper, but the film faults in its execution. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 lacks the heart present in its predecessor, and it lacks many other things too. The acting in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is unfortunately very weak, and that acting makes the film hard to take seriously. However, the filmâ(TM)s excellent soundtrack, and the good cinematography and visual effects bring the film back into the âdumb-funâ? category. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 isn't great, and certainly not as good as the first film. However, the filmâ(TM)s persistent charm makes it fun to watch.
