Review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) by Michael E — 28 May 2017

There were parts of this movie where I nearly fell asleep as the latest installment of the Guardians sags badly for about 40 minutes to set up the last half of the movie. I found this movie somewhat pedestrian and even the action sequences in the last half of the movie did little to move me. Chris Pratt is a stiff of an actor and he's not improving... He has very little range and his maudlin acting was in full force for this one. Baby Groot keeps the comedy rolling along with his antics and Micheal Rooker turns in the best performance.

Kurt Russell was fine in his role yet there wasn't enough in this movie that kept me engaged... I thought it was a bit of a yawner. I think cutting about 30 minutes out of it and tightening up the action may have helped.
