Review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) by Quartico B — 28 May 2017

This movie was so good, just like the first. Okay maybe it was not entirely as good as the first one but nonetheless it holds up to its expectations and even surpassing them at times.

There's just so many great things about this film: the action, the characters (except for Ego, frick Ego), the music, the visuals, the interactions between everyone, the humor, just about everything. Okay yes the main plot may have been a bit too standard for me I did not care, The Guardians of The Galaxy had once again sucked me into their world and into their very very dysfunctional sort of a family as a fan and as a child, allowing my action loving self to fully immerse myself into the movie.

So what were my favorite parts about the movie? Well okay there were a lot of things great about the movie but my favorite part about the movie as a whole would probably be the interactions between the characters and how their relationships with each other were slowly built and/or further explored and deepened (whether it was happening on or off-screen) but nonetheless still fresh and very real. My favorites of these being Quill and Yondu's relationship and the relationship between Rocket and Groot. Another prominent strength of the film I noticed was indeed the humor, it was everywhere, from scene where Quill is asking everyone for tape in the middle of the climax to nearly all of Baby Groot's lines and actions, it was everywhere and while some jokes weren't too strong the humor was overall pretty funny and helped me stay engaged.

But despite the many strengths there were a few weaknesses like those stupid gold people, they were boring as frick and didn't really add to anything until one of the mid-credits scenes (oh yeah there's FIVE total mid and post-credits scenes in the movie). Also I do wish that one or two of the weaker jokes had been taken out but nonetheless I still loved this film.

In short I would highly recommend this film to anyone, regardless on whether you're into superheroes or not, because if you like action, a well-paced plot, entertaining characters, and lots of humor then this film will be one heck of a ride.
