Guardians of the Galaxy is refreshing in its fun and sense of humor. It is mainly a comedy. Although some of the characters seemed familiar (the lead actor Chris Pratt is very similar to Han Solo in Star Wars), the humor and writing was fresh.
The humor doesn't always work, but the zingers come fast and furious to keep you grinning. The look of the movie is excellent as well, although Hollywood still hasn't perfected the craft of making computer animated characters look completely real all the time (the raccoon in particular).
All in all, very enjoyable.
