Humor, heart, interesting characters, and sights that are a wonder to behold. Guardians has a powerful soul that I don't think anyone expected from it going in. It's got a villain who only wants to be taken seriously.
..which could make for more boring than threatening when done wrong, but the unconventional cast of heroes make for excellent foils to him.
