Review of Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) by Philip W — 14 Oct 2016
All star cast, balanced humor throughout, and one the greatest mix-tapes ever assembled for the soundtrack, Guardians branches off from other super hero group movies and establishes itself in different creative ways that pays off big.
James Gunn brought a largely unknown comic series to the big-screen and despite it being a origin story, it's hopeful for more sequels and involvement in the Marvel universe, something no fan would be opposed to.
Rising star Chris Pratt shines as Peter Quill, a space outlaw who must work with a strange group of other aliens to save the universe from Ronan, a dark villain with a vengeance to destroy and rule all.
A touching story revolving around Quill's late mother, this film is nearly flawless in every regard and is my all time personal favorite.
