Review of Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) by Brian G — 20 May 2016
This band of rogue, colorful, and insane group of misfits have might as well pulled the rabbit out of the hat once when this was first released to the public. Guardians delivered what might be one of Marvel's riskiest projects, and it is a very delightful and funny one at that.
The characters are stranger than strange, more so than the Guardians' earthly counterparts, while the plot does not take itself so seriously. But for these reasons, the movie excels for its comic book inventiveness, not-too-heavy-on-the-head dialogue, and an awesomely compiled vintage soundtrack that gives a whole new meaning to space operas.
