Review of Grudge Match (2013) by Denise W — 22 Apr 2014
I couldn't believe that Stallone and DeNiro were willing to humiliate themselves to this extent for money. I don't mean the money they made for fighting in the Grudge Match, but the money they got to make this movie.
Unlike other movies where I was able to suspend disbelief because the content of the movie was interesting enough to float it, I spent half this film expecting one of them to collapse from a heart attack. A good example of this is Stallone's Expendables (plot - 0, explosions - 10) It's bad, and you know it's bad, but you're having too much fun watching your favorite 80's characters making everything explode (like the good old days) that you forget that one of them would probably throw out their back lifting one of the larger guns.
This movie may have started out as a good idea but I'm surprised that neither Stallone or DeNiro had enough pride to turn it down. Maybe they never read the script.
