Review of Grudge Match (2013) by Panta O — 22 Apr 2014
Grudge Match got a lot of flack on it's release but I quite enjoyed it. True it's not hilarious but anyone who went in expecting De Niro and Stallone to provide big belly laughs was sadly misguided. It does have a few laughs and works as a gentle comedy.
It wasn't the comedy that kept my attention though, it was there screen presence, it was just great to see these 2 guys play off each other. The earlier scenes that merged footage of their early careers looked really good and quite convincing. It was an entertaining film and I was rooting for both characters by the time we reached the final showdown..
