Review of Grown-Ups (1980) by Peter N — 02 Sep 2012
I stopped seeing Adam Sandler films years ago, but the ensemble cast persuaded me to at least give it a chance. It's better than some of the other endeavors previously released by the cast, but it still isn't very good.
I haven't decided if I only liked older Adam Sandler films because I was just a kid, or if they truly were better than the crap he puts out nowadays. After re-watching some of them, I'm starting to suspect they all suck.
Grown Ups has the occasional funny moment. But, as expected, the film as a whole falls flat on its face with its own stupidity. There is obviously a market for these kind of films, but those who inhabit this market are obviously at the bottom of the gene pool.
