Review of Grow Your Own (2007) by John D — 14 Aug 2009
The blurb may read "heartwarming British drama", the reality is a little more complicated. All the usual cliches are present, class conflicts, individual relationship problems, strangers in a strange land gradually gaining "acceptance", it's really only some fabulous acting, and a beautiful soundtrack that saves it from falling foul of the Full Monty/Brassed Off spider's web far many too many films of this ilk have become entangled in.
