Review of Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) by Shinyhair X — 29 Jul 2010
Definitely different from other romantic comedies. John Cusack is a hitman going back to his hometown for the first time in years because of a job. More importantly he wants to win back his high school sweetheart (Minnie Driver). As luck would have it, it is also his 10 year high school reunion. At the reunion his private life and his work collide. Everything unravels hilariously, but this being a Hollywood movie you can guess the ending.
Both Cusack and Driver deliver perfect rom-com performances. Not an amazing film, but definitely an enjoyable one.
