Review of Grizzly Park (2008) by Steve S — 31 May 2008
:rotten: :rotten: (out four).
They don't make horror films like they used to. This is both good and bad. Grizzly Park seems like a product of a past era. The slick production values of today are non-existant, however, there is a certain charm and respect that should be given to filmmakers who still do them the "old-fashioned" way..

The silly plot features a group of eight juvenile delinquents who are sent into the mountains, guided by Ranger Bob, to clean up litter. They are unaware that they are being hunted by a killer grizzly bear..

The film is actually more fun than expected since everything is shot in a kind of tongue-in-cheek sort of way. The director knows he's making a B-movie horror flick and he relishes in it. The performances are better than expected as well, especially from Randy Wayne as a drugged-out white-power racist..

In the end, it's hard to recommend a film like this, but it is also impossible to not have some respect for efforts that went into it. While definitely not a good film, it most certainly could have been far worse..
