A relentlessly fascinating exodus into the mind of a man who devoted himself so thoroughly to the study and protection of bears that he eventually lost his life to one. Director Werner Herzog crafts an excellent saga out of the footage he has collected, though I wish he wouldn't have exerted his own opinions so much.
