Review of Grizzly Man (2005) by Blake T — 23 Sep 2008
One firecracker of a documentary meets character study, based on a man obsessed with bears who lives with them documenting them and ends up losing his life to one, taking his girlfriend with him. Werner Herzog really new what he was doing when he produced this as he explores themes of obsession, mental illness, feelings of societal abandonment, environmentalism and the relationship between humans and wild animals.
