Review of Grindhouse (2007) by Andrew K — 30 Sep 2011
How can it really be a Grindhouse film when it has huge production companies backing it? Demension Films? Troublemaker Studios? Quentin Tarintino could probably ask any size budget for a film and the studio would bend over, ass backwards, for him and offer him a bonus.
Robert Rodriguez's Planet terror seemed(is) like the best of the two on the double feature. I couldnt even get myself halfway through Death proof.
The only reason really to watch this in the first place is for the fake trailers(made by someone else other than Quentin and Robert). Its also funny(and awesome) because the two spin off movies from the fake trailers are better than the full ones featured in this complimation of crap.
Tarintino just tries so, so hard to impress you throughout the whole thing. Its not "artistic", its big budgeted.
(53 million to be exact), major studio production.
