Review of Grimsby (2016) by James P — 13 Mar 2016
Not as original or as sustained as other Cohen films--more conventional and accessible, but not as inventive or good--this film is, at bottom, very sweet and uplifting in its celebration of family ties that transcend distance and class.
And as an evisceration of the idea that there exist classes of "scum" who do nothing but breed and pollute society and who must be gotten rid of--Swift or Orwell couldn't have done a better satirical job.
THE BROTHERS GRIMSBY may not be the best film of the year, but it may well be the most profoundly moral.
