The Brothers Grimsby is nowhere near the comedic heights of other Sacha Baron Cohen comedies. But it isn't necessarily bad. Sacha Baron Cohen gives a very funny performance in this film. Mark Strong is also very funny, shockingly.
They worked well together. The humor relies on shock value, and it works for the most part. There is a scene involving elephants that is just insane. The humor is very stupid. Sometimes too stupid. There were a fair amount of jokes that didn't land because they were too stupid.
Still, the movie has an entertaining story and a fair amount of good humor. Overall, this isn't as good as Borat, Bruno, or The Dictator. Still, it is a pretty funny film.
