Review of Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984) by Jj G — 09 Feb 2007
Incredibly intense, exhilarating adventure film... for the first half. The second half is actually a compelling drama about the attempts to make him fit into English society. It's extremely good up to a point, but it feels incredibly anticlimactic and unsatisfying.
Those who are unimpressed by Lambert should see this however - he's simply superb, turning Tarzan into a real, believable, three-dimension character with only a small handful of lines.
