Review of Greyhound (2020) by Bradens584 — 20 Dec 2020
Greyhound tries really hard to be the 1917 of the Navy, but just falls short. Despite having epic action and compelling set pieces along with nice cinematography, there isn’t much more than that. Tom Hanks is great, but his character isn’t.
There’s not really any substance beyond ‘looking cool’, but at the same time, it wasn’t really aiming for that. It was aiming to take the audience on a journey into the middle of the Atlantic during WWII, and as far as that goes, it succeeds with flying colours.
