Review of Grey Gardens (1976) by Leslie L — 12 Sep 2009
This is such a fabulously raw and surreal account of dysfunctional relationships, personal disappointment, and a portrait of how not freeing ones' self from demons can truly deteriorate your will to assimilate! These ladies were truly deluded yet seemed too settled in the rut in which they'd created to even try anymore.
I, like so many others, saw the HBO film first. Drew Barrymore did an exceptional job as little Edie. I wish this film had been required viewing when I was taking abnormal psych. I highly recommend this film.
