Review of Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990) by Adrian Z — 23 Apr 2012
3 - Gremlins do a NY based self-parody inspired by classic Warner Bros. cartoons (in fact Chuck Jones provides a Daffy Duck intro / outro) but it ends up overall more goofy than clever. A real stream of hit and miss gags that tend to drown out the simplistic plot.
Entertaining, but it could have benefitted from a sharper script. A strong highlight has to be the very funny final musical number. Some interesting cameos include critic Leonard Maltin, and film composer Jerry Goldsmith, who scored this picture.
