Review of Gregory's Girl (1980) by Sherry L — 12 Feb 2010
Awwww! How I love this movie! So insanly charming and innocent movie about this dorky scottish boy Gregory, and his trouble with girls.
Gregory is this tall and lanky boy in his middle teens, who has no luck with girls. One day a really cool and goodlooking girls wants to join his football team. The coach is hesitating, since he don't really think she, a girl, could contribute something for the team. But to the coach (and everybody else's) this girl turned out to be a very very good football player and outshined all the boys. Gregory immediately fells in love with this girl, but will he really have a chance on her? Or "who will be Gregory´s girl?".
It's very corny but that's what I love about this movie. Gregory has to be one of the cutest characters I've ever seen!
My movie-critic self, keep asking me; but is it REALLY worth 80%???
But hell yeah! I really enjoyed it that much, and don't care if it REALLY is a 80%-movie or not! And that's it.
Please don't miss this cult classic by Bill Forsyth!
