Review of Green Room (2016) by Paul C — 18 Sep 2016
Ever since I first watched Blue Ruin, I notice Jeremy Sauliner has a style one can easily relate to and Green Room continues that trend. What I mean is each character is someone you can sympathize with.
I never want bad things to happen even to the "bad guys". When something does happen, it hurts more. Also, he tends to give us an ultra realistic depiction of violence. This is done from fumbling with shotgun shells, blinding people with an extinguisher, or watching a dog realistically tear someone apart.
There's so much detail, reason and human nature distilled into each dillema that it all seems to take place in our real world. The expression it's so real it hurts definitely applies here and should be experienced.
