Review of Green Book (2018) by Brent_Marchant — 28 Nov 2018
A superb fact-based road trip buddy film featuring two of the unlikeliest of travel companions. This tale of an African-American pianist and his New York Italian driver on a concert tour of the American South in 1962 hits all the right notes without belaboring its message while effectively capturing the unusual friendship that grows between the film's two protagonists.
Excellent performances by Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali are punctuated by a script that's full of laughs, poignancy and heart. An underrated gem that deserves high marks and well-earned accolades.
