Review of Great World of Sound (2007) by Anthony H — 26 Jan 2008
It was a well done film that is centralized around two characters who become traveling record producers and are tasked with finding talent and recruting the good and the bad to get their own record deal.
The only catch is the artists have to pay up front to "ensure their commitment". Slowly their morals and convictions are tested as they see they are blindly participating in a scam to take innocent people for their money.
A lot of the musicians I believe are real, which adds to the tone of the movie, and ends with a lot undiscussed, much like life. The two main characters are great and the movie has humor laced with dramatic moments to make for a movie that is not like any others, and definitely leaves you wondering about the world around us.
