Review of Great Expectations (2012) by Matt W — 12 Dec 2012
Very efficient and very faithful to the source material. While its casting and acting can be a little hit-and-miss, Great Expectations covers the book's gargantuan sequence of events quickly yet thoroughly.
Its only reason for existing, in my opinion, is in providing an update to the 1946 version. It does so, not at any point bringing anything new to the story or the film industry. But still, it does so.
