Review of Great Expectations (1998) by Tiberio S — 30 Jan 2008
It's clear that through his body of work, Cuaron is fascinated by Freud's theories on youth sexuality, as well as his interest in exploring his own pedophilia. A lot of the back-story has to do with the main story, and Cuaron captures everything as more of a longing from youth, a perspective that either he took upon himself or jumped at when reading Dickens' tale, which I have not read.
