Review of Grave Encounters (2011) by Jessica C — 17 Apr 2012
I'm pretty hard to impress when it comes to horror, but I really dug this. The setting and back-story was laid out perfectly. And even though some of the CGI effects were cheap and hokey, the overall vibe of the film stayed pretty tense and unsettling.
There was a sense of claustrophobia that was almost palpable just coursing through this. It was a really decent fright flick filled with chilling twists and a ton of jump-scares to keep you on your toes.
Generally I try to avoid movies with alot of jump-scares, but in this case, it just added to the fun. I am happy to say that this probably wouldn't be a waste of time.
