Review of Grave Encounters (2011) by Nik M — 31 Oct 2012
Grave Encounters is a great homage to the ghost-hunting cult shows of modern broadcasting. The style is effective and is a near mirrored production to that of actual television shows revolving ghosts, spirits, entities, and anything supernatural.
The building is fittingly creepy and is used at the advantage of the filmmakers. However, the collection of characters (other than the main) are hard to accept both through dialogue and spontaneous reaction.
As it treads on, Grave Encounters hints at potential psychological crossovers into spirituality, even if it doesn't pursue it.
