The most technological advance motor sports was captured under the lenses of John Frankenheimer into an epic cinematic experience for a tale between four drivers' racing carrier and complex love story.

The movie was shot in the mid 1960's as a record of the 1964 grand prix season (I think). The use onboard mounted camera delivered a realistic high speed experience to the audience; such realistic shots eventually lead to John Frankenheimer production of Ronin (1998) with its famous intensive chase scene.

I am a huge fans of the Grand Prix sport myself, but the 1960's racing era was truly before my time, seeing this as a theatrical perspective was indeed not the most authentic experience, but what John Frankenheimer delievered was absolutely stunning. The attention to details down to the distinction of each racing engines and the precision throttle control, making the Grand Prix not only a remarkable movie experience but a fantasy to relive the era of pure petrol head, and the terror of a prestigious high speed sports.
