Review of Grand Hotel (2008) by Terri H — 06 Jan 2009
An interesting perspective of pre-war berlin through the eyes of 1930's hollywood. granted we don't see outside the walls of the grand hotel but it's often talked about, as being one of the brightest cities. anyhoo, this is the first time i'd witnessed joan crawford or greta garbo on celluloid. joan is a fascinating mix of keira knightley and gillian anderson. she was a badass, and I can't wait to watch more. garbo had the physicality of vanessa redgrave with eyes as crazy as celine dion's.
P.s. drew definitely has her grandfather's nose.
