Review of Gran Torino (2008) by James H — 11 May 2012

I think everybody knows a stubborn old hard ass man who Eastwood reminds them of in this movie. Eastwood plays a convincing Korean War veteran who finally breaks down his walls of racism to help a young Asian boy change his life.

Its a milder kinder version of American History X. A stubborn racist is forced by extenuating circumstances to question his hatred of minorities. While the film is somewhat slow taking off the ending is incredible and the movie as a whole is fantastic.
