Review of Gran Torino (2008) by Iven S — 02 Jul 2012
This movie seemed effortless. I love Clint...he is a brilliant filmmaker, great story teller and awesome actor. Its him that makes this movie and the pace of it really has you sit with him on that porch.
I love the dialogue that comes out of Walts mouth. You get a real sense of times changing and how the old have to put with the new and of course the criticisms that come both sides. Take this movie however you want but it does have something to say.
Whether you look at it from the stand point of growing old and dealing with your demons or whether its about race relations or even disenfrachised youth. There is many layers to this very simple film and I guess thats the genius of it.
Brilliant stuff. Cant wait for Clints next one.
