Review of Gran Torino (2008) by Mrugen M — 07 Aug 2012
Walt Kowalski: Relax, Zipperhead.
Another bold project from Clint Eastwood. He doesn't quite strike gold here, but it's definitely a different take from him and his film does examine some interesting topics in today's society like racism, gangs, etc... you get my drift. Clint Eastwood gives a darkly humorous, mean, bad ass performance. He does seem like your stereotypical old man in the beginning, he then changes as the story progresses. I guess the supporting performances are good for a bunch of unknowns. They are some what irritating and realistic at the same time in certain situations. This was a really interesting piece of work from Mr. Eastwood and deserves some recognition for coming out with something different.
