Review of Grace Is Gone (2007) by Kyle R — 23 Sep 2008
This film turns cinemas standard gendered roles on their head with a husband who has to come to terms with the death of a wife soldiering in Iraq. You know already what the story is, but the films genius is in the manner in which it puts you in the father's shoes waiting for that opportune moment he can break the news to his two daughters.
Other than the brief argument with a slacker brother, however, there is no reflection on the merits of the war.
