I've always been kind of neutral about John Cusack but his transformation in this film is just incredible. He loses his wife in service in the middle east and has a very emotional,heart wrenching grief reaction-not able to tell his 2 daughters right away.
Instead he runs away with them while consumed with grief and trying to hide it-denying her death.
