Having a stubbornly Republican family, I know just how it goes...
I think Cusack's performance in this film is striking because he often plays some kind of single guy who is somewhat of an outsider. The fact that both sides of the argument on the topic of patriotism and war are present in this film makes you think without getting the feeling that you're being preached at.
