Review of Gozu (2003) by Perry C — 11 Jun 2007
Takashi Miike is one of the most bizzare and unique directors of our time. And this is the best example of just how bizzare he can be. It's got a man with a cow head, a woman who lactates all over, and another woman whose "privates" say "Gozu.
" Many people don't understand this film, and for good reason, but it is way beyond the stuff that people are used to. This film contains LOTS of symbolism and it will take a few re-watches and a fair amount of self-meditation to truly understand the vision.
Definitely not for everyone, but if you want a truly unique experience, check this one out.
