One could argure that takashi miike is a japanese version of david lynch, albeit a bit more reliant on shock appeal than achual surrealism. this is one of his better films in my humble opinion, and almost seems like a trowback to twin peaks, although far more violent and sexualy devient.
give it a shot if your in the mood for something different.
