Review of Gosford Park (2001) by Alex K — 12 Jul 2010
A very interesting little film. It's a rather under-the-radar type of film, though it's boasted with several great performances from the ensemble cast. The wry screenplay deservedly won an Oscar in 2001, and it does a terrific job of creating a time and place.
The "whodunnit" factor is lacking, though the end result is very moving. Overall, a charming film, packed with tons of potential that may or may not be accomplished. This one definitely deserves another viewing.
